Doom Resurrection
Doom Resurrection has some pretty good qualities. Firstly, the
controls are intuitive; I found aiming (performed by tilting the
screen) surprisingly easy to use. Likewise, it looks visually
impressive (at least for an iPhone game) and it has a good
length to it. That said, it's not without some shortcomings too,
the first of which is the woeful story. The ending is horribly
anticlimactic and all the way through you have to endure
pointless dialogue. Sure, it wouldn't be too bad if it was
spoken, but instead they opted to use text (probably due to the
limitations of the iPhone), which only goes to slow the pace of
the game. Despite these issues, I did at least find myself
wilfully finishing the game.
